Student Leadership

St Mary’s Catholic College places a strong emphasis on student leadership. We aim to provide opportunities to develop and cultivate leadership qualities within all students. It is important that we prepare our future leaders through experiences that develop skills in the areas of collaboration, communication, emotional intelligence, decisiveness, and assertiveness, so they can engage successfully in a changing world.

The Student Pastoral Council is the representative body for all students and comprises four students following leadership elections at the start of the school year. Peers nominate students before voting takes place.

The Student Representative Council is the largest of the leadership groups and it aims to give a voice to all students to have impact on the future direction of the school.

Wellbeing leaders assist pastoral care teachers to develop the character strengths of all students in the school. The desired effect is to promote the best qualities our students can possess.
