Spiritual Life of St Mary's Catholic College
“There, where you are you will find God”
Spirituality is the name we give to the inner quest as the human heart seeks meaning and recognises that there is a dimension of life that leads us to the Transcendent, the Other, our God.
For all of us this is a unique search that flows from the life experiences that shape and influence us.
A spiritual tradition has developed and resonates in the hearts of many people today.
This tradition has highlighted the core and essence of “being Josephite”, which includes:
Reverence for the dignity of all
Humility and compassion
Service of those made poor
Courage in the face of adversity.
St Mary’s is grounded in the Josephite Spirit. This spirit is welcoming and hospitable, modelling fairness, justice, and compassion, especially to those in need. Inspired by the vision of Mary MacKillop and Julian Tenison Woods, founders of the Sisters of St Joseph, St Mary’s Catholic College is committed to a holistic approach to education and to the development of each student’s full potential. We emphasise values of personal responsibility and collaboration, careful and critical thinking, and the commitment to excellence in the sense of giving their best.
